What is Multi User access on Bitso Business

Modified on:

Multi-user access lets your company invite team members to access your Bitso Business account, each with their own login and permissions defined by their role. No one has to share passwords, and every action is recorded and linked to the person who performed it.

How it works

The person who created the account is the account owner and keeps full security control. The account owner invites team members, called institutional employees, and assigns each one a role that defines what they can see and do.

Every invited person must complete two-step verification the first time they log in. Until they do, access to the account stays blocked.

Available roles

Role What they can do
Auditor Read-only. Views balances and transaction history and downloads reports. Cannot perform any transaction.
Operator Performs trades and conversions.
Withdrawal operator Performs trades and conversions, and starts withdrawal requests.
Account administrator Manages users, payments, and settings, and can approve withdrawals. Cannot perform actions that require legal authority or contractual commitment

How payments are approved

Withdrawals follow a two-step authorization process to protect your company's funds:

  1. A withdrawal operator creates the withdrawal request in the web portal. The request stays pending approval.
  2. The account owner or an account administrator reviews the request and approves or declines it on the withdrawal requests screen. Funds do not move until it is approved.

Low-risk payments that meet your configured withdrawal policy rules can run immediately, without this approval.

Security and activity log

  • Each employee has their own login with mandatory two-step verification. Every critical action, such as logins and security events, is recorded and linked to the main account, which supports auditing and fraud investigation.
  • The account owner can suspend or reinstate an employee's access at any time from the user management screen.

Where it is available

Multi-user access is available to all institutional customers. To enable multi-user access on your account, contact support or your account manager.

How to add team members

To add a team member, the account owner requests each new authorized user from the support team, with the person's role and required documents. For the step-by-step process and the documents each role needs, see How to request new authorized users on Bitso Business, or contact support to make a request.
